I love this post, Kate! The colorful rectangles look like little ladders to happiness.

Thanks, Elisa! I love how you saw those rectangles ~ now I see them that way, too. Ladders to anywhere and everywhere! One person (a city kid) said the 2nd one reminded her of subway cars :) The eye of the beholder...

What a boost this gives after weeks of living in monotone!

What a treat to read and love me a pop of color and love even more learning that the process of creating is the point, not what is created.

Miss you!

Thanks, Carolyn! YOU were always the happy pop of color on Love Lane. Miss you more.

Kate, I love thinking of you surrounded by such colorful fabrics and having time to play with and be uplifted by them. You bring color to everything you do. I'm glad you're seeking out its energizing force during the dull and housebound days of winter.

Thanks so much, Alice! I’ll bet it’s pretty colorful where you are these days! ☀️

The tropical colors are amazing. No wonder I always feel so happy here.

This piece took me down a rabbit hole of AI to learn more about frequencies and colors! Where does gray fit in? Because it must impact mood. A lot. Thanks for an interesting piece Kate!

Thanks, Anne! Since grey is the middle between 2 opposite colors on the color wheel (purple+yellow; red+green; blue+orange) grey can be towards warm or cool, thus affecting mood accordingly. I think the color vibration from neutralized colors must be pretty small, though, compared to clear colors. Grey definitely affects my mood, not always positively. I could go on! Thanks for the inadvertent prompt! 😁

ha! Kate! I love all these little insights. It's funny....grey in the out-of-doors depressing to me. But warm grey, on walls, is relaxing. It's all context, I guess!

Love this. Love the bright colors. I tried an embroidering class. It was really absorbing for two hours and I loved it...but haven't picked it up since. Maybe I should go find it!

Fun piece, Kate - so glad you chose to work on your rectangles! Any idea why really bright/intense/saturated colors bother me? I’m guessing a lot of people feel the same given how muted most peoples clothes/homes are (Lily Pulitzer fans excepted!) Cultural?… wondering as I come back from San Miguel and a near overdose of bright colors.
